10 years of experience in the solar energy industry and have constructed and operated over 200 MW of solar projects. Experience in engineering management, project management and EPC work in the solar industry and also involved with investor due diligence documentation and reporting from a technical standpoint

In this role, I am responsible for developing and implementing transformational strategies that align with the company’s goals and objectives, while ensuring effective program management, stakeholder engagement, and risk mitigation.

Shazim is a business leader with over 20 years’ experience in renewable energy project development, corporate strategy and operations, and technology investing. His global business experience spans the US, Asia and Africa and includes the successful turnaround of two businesses. He has extensive experience in all aspects of the solar project development value chain: business development, site control, interfacing with utilities for IX, permitting, deployment, off-take & asset management. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Columbia University’s School of Engineering and Applied Sciences and an MBA from NYU’s Stern School of Business.

Helena Wells was born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and moved to the United States shortly after earning her law school degree by FGV-Rio. Since moving, she has had a wide breadth of professional experience ranging from client service management, team building, project management, and office administration to strategic implementation and global product sourcing.

Frank Hopkins is a land use professional with over ten years of local government experience. He most recently served as the Planning Director for Powhatan County where he oversaw the planning department and advised local elected leaders on land policies. Frank has worked on complex conditional use permit applications, including utility-scale solar, and has a talent for communicating difficult material to elected boards. Prior to being Planning Director, Frank served the City of Winchester as their Zoning Administrator where he frequently amended their zoning ordinance to assist economic development in attracting new business to the city. Frank brings with him a deep knowledge of Virginia land use policy and is a lifelong resident of the state where he has lived in Northern Virginia, the Shenandoah Valley, Hampton Roads, and now Richmond. He holds a master’s degree in public administration from James Madison University where he studied public management as well as environmental policy. When he is not working, Frank spends most of his time with his wife raising their two daughters.

Kim Jawanda brings over 20 years of urban planning experience in her role as a management consultant with public, private and non-governmental organizations. She is a firm believer in teamwork and collaboration, and her track record proves that proactive involvement and positive support leads to measurable success for individuals, clients and projects. Kim’s core strengths lie in stakeholder/partnership relations, local/community economic development, project management, marketing and influence management. Her primary focus has been in the field of development, targeting mainly urban and in some cases rural community development projects that improve the economic lives of the surrounding communities.

Shankar (Nag) is a financial industry veteran with experience in investing and risk management in the energy, banking, insurance, hedge funds, and private equity space. Prior to joining the Hodson Energy team, Shankar was the Head of Investments, Risk & Strategy at KKR. and a professor of Finance at Columbia, NYU, and McGill Universities
